By using certain parts of this site, by subscribing to the newsletter you pass on information that allows you to identify as a person. This only happens for our services and information and if you give permission for this.

Your personal data will be processed in accordance with the provisions of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (also known as General Data Protection Regulation or 'GDPR').

This privacy policy applies to the services of Meterdiscount. We are not responsible for the privacy policies of other sites and sources connected to our website, but we do refer to it so that you can find the necessary information.

By using this website you accept this privacy policy.

You always have the right to keep your personal data:

  • to request and look into,
  • (have) changed,
  • (let) delete.

This can be done for one or more entries in different databases..

You can also ask to be removed from all databases.  You will be  'forgotten'  and not contacted in any way.

If you make the changes or deletion yourself, this is immediately effective. If you submit an application to make changes, this will happen as soon as possible and at least within 30days.

How do you assert your rights?

This can be done by clicking on a link at the bottom of the newsletter or by simply emailing a request  to  info@meterdiscount.eu. You can also use the contact form.

Always mention:

  • First and last name of the person you want to delete or change.
  • Email address of the person you want to delete or change.
  • What changes do you want to make or do you want the person to be deleted.

How we process your data

The controller shall be:

Your personal data will be processed by subsequent data processors (who also comply with gdpr rules).

For sending e-newsletters, the data processor is mailchimp based in the U.S.A. By subscribe to our newsletter you agree to the terms of Mailchimp. An agreement has been concluded with this data processor to protect your personal data.

Shopify is used for product purchase. Again, your personal data is processed and stored protected.

For user analysis of our website, we enable Google Analytics. For this purpose, information about the use of our website is collected anonymously. This information is not passed on to Google and is not used for marketing and advertising purposes.

What data is collected?

Only that personal data is collected that is necessary to comply with a certain part of our service or to forward your information.

That could be:

  • first name and name
  • email address
  • residential address
  • Business
  • Phone number
  • VAT number

In forms, some information is required (usually indicated by a *), this information is necessary to provide you with the desired service.

Other information – not indicated by * – may be useful, but is not absolutely necessary. You choose whether to fill in data here.

No marketing profiles are created on the basis of completed data or cookies placed (see below).

Why are your personal data kept?

Your personal data will be used for a specific purpose (and only for that purpose) with the following legal grounds:

  • Contact form: to meet your question, to answer (execute command).
  • Subscribe to newsletter: to send you an occasional newsletter with offers or information that may interest you (consent data subject) This newsletter is only sent if there is interesting information for you, which can involve news from the coffee world, tips on making and buying coffee and price promotions.
  • Purchase form: to process your purchase, deliver the desired products and show you other products that might interest you (carry out assignment and legitimate interest)
  • Request brochure: to send you the brochure (carry out assignment)

An exception to this can only be done with your explicit consent.

How long will your data be tracked?

Personal data is retained for as long as it takes to provide you with the service that you yourself activated or consented to. Your personal data will be kept for up to 5 years after the last use.

Actually, you have to specify the exact time frame here: for example, 1 year. The maximum retention period of personal data is 5 years.

Transfer to third parties

Your personal data will not be passed on to third parties. We only use services that process personal data if we have a processing agreement with it, if they are necessary for our services and information and if they can vouch for the secure storage of personal data with a guarantee of your privacy.

Your personal data will only be passed on if it is necessary for the purpose for which you gave consent and provided the personal data (sending a newsletter, purchasing product, booking a service...) or if this is required by law and permitted (for example, in the context of a judicial investigation).

For example, a third party is engaged for:

  • providing IT infrastructure (e.g. booking software, sales software...);

We analyze that information with Google Analytics (read Google and Google Analytics privacy policies for more info) to improve our website, but  no personal information is tracked or passed on to Google and other third parties.

Note: Under the GDPR, it is no longer permitted to keep personal information such as IP address in Google Analytics without permission.

Of course, you have to adjust this if you do use tracking cookies.

This website uses functional and analytical cookies. This is done anonymously. Read more about this in our cookie policy.

In short: functional cookies make our website work better, analytical cookies tell us something about how the website is used. No personal data is collected or transmitted. The cookies are not used for marketing or advertising.

You can turn cookies off and on in your browser settings and also clear them.

Of course, you have to adjust this if you do use tracking cookies.  

Facebook, Twitter and other social media

This site contains share buttons for social media networks. The code behind these buttons places – when used – a cookie on your computer. This is the subject of the privacy rules of the social networks. We have no influence on and bear no responsibility for what these networks do with your personal data.

We also have no control over how other social media users handle your information after you've shared something on our website.

This Privacy Statement may change. We adapt the rules and conditions to protect your privacy as best we can and to deal with your personal data in a transparent way. So take a regular look again. The last adjustment dates from 01/07/2020

We handle your personal data as carefully as possible and keep it secure. If something goes wrong, we will inform you as soon as possible and do everything possible to limit the damage.

The disseminating of your personal data by data theft or data breaches cannot give rise to claims for damages against us.
